Kingfishers

Seeing a kingfisher in the wild was an incredible experience and one I won’t forget. I visited a pond that had recent sightings, hoping to get lucky - and I did. As soon as I arrived, a kingfisher was already perched by the water’s edge. Despite the noise and movement around the pond, it remained calm and unbothered, giving me a rare chance to watch it closely. Its vibrant colours stood out beautifully against the natural backdrop, and although I haven’t had much time to photograph kingfishers yet, this first encounter was something special. It reminded me just how rewarding patience and timing can be in wildlife photography.
